Diler Özer

About

Diler Ozer is a percussionist, composer, educator, and rhythm researcher. In her work, rhythm is treated not only as a technical field but also as a form of cultural memory, embodiment, and musical expression. Her percussion performance, educational content, rhythm-centered creative projects, and compositional output develop along the same artistic line.

She graduated from Bogazici University, Department of Mathematics (1989–1993). She later completed a master's degree in percussion at Istanbul Technical University MIAM (2006–2009), and then completed doctoral studies in ethnomusicology at MIAM.

Since the founding of the Kardes Turkuler project, she has worked actively in percussion, participating in stage, recording, and collective production processes. In her own artistic work, she develops an approach that brings together traditional rhythm worlds and contemporary modes of expression.

In addition to her identity as a musician, Diler Ozer also works as a composer. Her singles, rhythm-centered compositions, and projects in film and game music are important parts of this production line. Under Exritmis, she brings together education, creative rhythm production, and a research-oriented approach.
